'We loved the staff and hospitality at Momijiya. My husband said it felt like we were staying at our grandma's house. We loved the ryokan experience as well. We really felt we were getting a more intimate Japanese experience. The food really put us Americans out of our comfort zone, but we wouldn't have wanted it any other way. 'The location is amazing! I knew making the reservation the location would come at a cost. The convenience to all the major attractions in the Gion neighborhood made the price worth it. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating. The rooms on the fourth floor have deep bathtubs to soak in after a long day of sightseeing.
