'Als familie van 4 personen, 2 volwassenen en 2 tieners, hebben wij een prima verblijf gehad. Wij verbleven in een 4 persoonskamer met gedeelde badkamer en toilet. In de gedeelde keuken kun je alles gebruiken. De Ryokan is typisch Japans en een leuke belevenis. Prima service. Prachtige tuin. Restaurant in het hoofdgebouw. Bushalte en supermarkt op loopafstand. Met de bus 20 minuten naar Kyoto Station.'

'Kyoto Ryokan Hirashin's best feature is its excellent location that allows walkable access to just about every magical aspects of Kyoto: Outrageously fun shopping options, unmatched food choices, outstanding ease to public transportation, awe-inspiring visitation to world-famous temples/shires/palaces/castles/landmarks, etc. Additionally, staff members were superbly attentive to guests' needs, quick to help, and made my 18-day stay an absolute joy.'

'It was a very unique experience. They were agreeable, and when language was a barrier, even those who didn't know English, they were fluent enough to understand what you were saying and what you wanted/needed and delivered promptly. While I did attempt to use my limited Japanese, it was just that, limited. Whenever I'm in Kyoto again, I would likely come back to this Inn.'

Prijs van de kamers is hoog en misschien wel te hoog in vergelijking met hotel of andere ryokans. Maar het eten, apart bijboeken, is in een woord geweldig. Hotels.com gaf aan dat we met 5 op een kamer kunnen slapen, daarvoor is de kamer echt te klein en dat moet je ook niet willen.
