'I booked this last minute and so glad I came across it. Booked King but got free upgrade to large King. Everything excellent, very comfortable, quiet, clean, plenty of extras in room including bottled milk in fridge, two bottles water, cotton wool and buds as well as the usual shower gel, shampoo, conditior soap, and an extra nice touch wine glasses in room. Host very friendly and informative, folder provided with lots of information on local area. Mini bar with honesty box available in lounge....

'Beautiful hotel, lake view room, with the all important AIR conditioning option. It didn’t cool as much as we would like for a wife that gets hot flashes & being used to keeping your body cool at night for best sleeps (we Americans love our AC.) had to open small upper corner windows at night, but they are behind closed blinds for privacy and difficult to get the cold air into the room. 'This was a fairly late booking and on the whole we had a great stay. The weather was kind and we were able to take a lovely 4 mile walk into Ambleside. The room was very comfortable in all respects. All of the staff that we interacted with were pleasant. '

'We came for a one night stay, two adults, one year old and a dog (one of the only places locally which allowed dogs!). The hotel looks beautiful as you drive up the winding driveway. We were warmly greeted by the receptionist and who checked us in smoothly. We had booked a four poster bed room as it had more space. 'Lovely little touches such as welcoming you by name through your cat numberplate and Prosecco and a tour of the hotel on arrival. Fabulous staff. Only negative was charging for the car park if you don’t book directly through the hotel.'
