« Throughly enjoyed our stay as a family with our dog!
Staff were super friendly and so helpful and inviting.
The location is great with a beautiful view of the lake.
We ate in the restaurant for dinner and would definitely recommend and the breakfast was really tasty.
Beds really comfortable and clean! Room has everything you need.
Will be back for sure! »

« Nice exterior, with parking for residents. Rushed ‘check in’ at the bar meant I was charged in full despite already paying a deposit. Thanks to Iain for organising the refund.
Hall and stairs to rooms looked unclean. Handrails were sticky to touch, repairs to walls were dreadful. Stair carpet needs cleaned.

« First, the positive: terrific location. Steps from the station.
No response through their Expedia or direct messaging link, so we called directly. We were told we'd receive a check-in code. Received it right at 3, so find wi-fi or make sure you have data - and don't plan for an even slightly early check-in if you're arriving by train (as most do). A company across the street rents storage lockers. Good price, friendly owner.
Very small room. No closet. TV is the size of a small computer...

« We booked Holbeck Ghyll as a special treat after two days of walking in the Lake District and were genuinely looking forward to it. The reality was a serious disappointment.
The room was in a poor state of repair: mould on the bathroom ceiling, rusted window frames, failing grout and sealant with black mould in the tile joints, and paint peeling throughout the bathroom. These are not superficial issues — they represent basic maintenance failures that should not exist in any hotel, let alone one...

« A classic 18 century coaching in with Ultra modern facilities and Michelin level food the staff are really helpful and can’t do too much for us helping us tune our TV to ensure that we had ability to watch the World Cup games. The food is a different level to coaching and could be a Michelin star restaurant the court outstanding and the quantity very generous. I would highly recommend this coaching in the Brown horse for either stay or a meal either way you’ll enjoy yourself. I’ll probably keep...
