'This was a fairly late booking and on the whole we had a great stay. The weather was kind and we were able to take a lovely 4 mile walk into Ambleside. The room was very comfortable in all respects. All of the staff that we interacted with were pleasant. '

'We came for a one night stay, two adults, one year old and a dog (one of the only places locally which allowed dogs!). The hotel looks beautiful as you drive up the winding driveway. We were warmly greeted by the receptionist and who checked us in smoothly. We had booked a four poster bed room as it had more space. 'Lovely little touches such as welcoming you by name through your cat numberplate and Prosecco and a tour of the hotel on arrival. Fabulous staff. Only negative was charging for the car park if you don’t book directly through the hotel.'

'Free parking and views of lake from the dining room were very good. Half board - the dinner was good but overpriced so the 10% service charge worked out extortionate. NOT GOOD We were put in a small loft room with a difficult door to open and a tight stair access- the room and whole property needs a lick of paint and could be cleaner. Location too far from bowness - walking into town is 20minutes but on both roads which had no pavement so very dangerous. Wouldn’t stay here again .'
