We really felt we were getting a more intimate Japanese experience. The food really put us Americans out of our comfort zone, but we wouldn't have wanted it any other way. 'Very refined and traditional inn, where the incredibly gracious host makes you feel straight at home. Breakfast is lovely, the whole hotel is spotless, and the onsen bath is a definite highlight. 'Just as the photos showed, the bathtub was fantastic to soak in at the end of the day. The amenities were of high standard. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Loved having the space for our family of 3. Washer dryer was great to use mid trip too. We used the bus from the train station and it was only about 150m walk to get to Ryoken. 'Simply spectacular. A real gem of a place. The attendees are extremely kind and go over and beyond to make the stay feel comfortable. This is a 7 star property with true cultural vibe. The food is fantastic. I’ll be going back for sure. The experience is worth every penny. '
