'Just back from a wonderful 2 night stay at The Old Forge Chapel. Our lovely cosy room in the converted chapel was beautifully clean, with a bed that was so comfortable we could have stayed in it all day! Lots of thoughtful little touches like a Nespresso machine, straighteners and hairdryer. Even a mini fridge with fresh milk-so much nicer than UHT rubbish! The view of the gardens and village from our room was gorgeous. Similarly the bar and restaurant were beautifully decorated and quintessentially English. 'The room was really hot as there is no A/C and the window only opened about 2 inches. However, there was a fan in the wardrobe. Sadly, though, the fan operated on a two hour timer, so I was up every two hours or so turning it back on. Not conducive to a good night's sleep. The bed was comfortable enough, though I don't like feather pillows. The shower curtain in installed too far into the bath and constantly sticks to you. Annoying!
