'Zeer behulpzame eigenaar en een goed onderhouden terrein met veel wildlife. Goed uitvalsbasis voor trips in de omgeving.'

'Oliver was a wonderful host - fresh home-baked bread, butter and milk and a basket of goodies left for us, as well as a welcome sign! My 10 year old immediately felt welcome and excited to be there! The river view from the bedroom was magic in the morning. Bathroom was clean with a lovely shower. We came and went as we pleased and felt very safe. Lots of modern gadgets in the kitchen and a big TV. We enjoyed a few games of Snakes and Ladders before bed. Oliver offered plenty of local knowledge....

'Great venue with a large variety of different activities and spaces to keep you entertained.'

'Beautiful place with beautiful local artwork. The cabin was beautiful- a place you immediately want to call home. The fresh herbs and spinach left by Sally was one of my favourite touches. The outdoor bath was lovely too. Wildlife. Aplenty The location was about 40 minutes away from Orange as leaving the property took ten minutes because of the dirt road. The drive in looks scary as it's off road but you get used to it just keep in mind.'

'Het is een prachtig verblijf met alles wat een mens zich kan wensen. Super vriendelijk zowel bij het in- als uitchecken.'

'After watching the ABC segment filmed a long time ago, it is a credit to the owners to see how lovely and relaxing the accommodation is now.The Blacksmith’s Cottage is perfect for a couple. The donkeys on the property were very friendly and we managed to see the Highland cattle later in the evening. Overall a great...

'Incredible stay at Basalt Retreat! We enjoyed a cozy and luxurious evening the beautiful vineyard, made even more lovely by the complimentary bottle of prosecco and warm hot cocoa. The space itself is gorgeous and so well appointed—from the fascinating books to the gorgeously-scented bath products. Breakfast was delicious: an exquisite croissant loaf with butter and fig jam, plus yogurt and muesli, all made by local purveyors. If you have time, make sure to get lunch at the lovely restaurant....

'The place was fantastic. Great price for what you get. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing in a great spot. We didn't want to leave and wish we could have stayed for longer.'
