'Het was teleurstellend. Op het afgesproken tijdstip (7:30) kwam ik naar beneden en alles was dicht. Geen ontbijt, geen uitcheck personeel. Na een halfuur wachten was er een poetsvrouw voor de bar. Ik ben vertrokken om 8:30 en nog steeds was daar niemand om de kamersleutel in ontvangst te nemen.'

'My friend and I had a lovely stay here last night. We arrived in the afternoon and were warmly welcomed by Karen. We were really well looked after by Karen and her team and nothing was too much trouble. Our twin room was lovely and the beds really comfortable with lovely touches in the bathroom in case we had forgotten anything. 'A nice family stay, quiet village pub. The host was very helpful including recommending an evening meal in the next village which was great (fighting cocks pub). It seems the venue has stopped doing food, but having said that she still provided us with a perfectly good breakfast. The room was clean, a nice little street village view, we all slept well. Great for country walking, a family visit and somewhere quieter in a local pub.'

'Lovely, comfortable clean and spacious room. Good size breakfast with good quality ingredients with pleasant hosts. Property located away from major roads surrounded by stunning gardens makes for a peaceful nights sleep. Would say I would stay again, but I had to come back for work again unexpectedly the following week and re-booked without hesitation'

'Nice enough staff. The pub looked like a 1970’s Benidorm recreation of a British pub with a ceiling full of beer mats. Food was ok but a little overpriced for pub grub. The outside area was filthy. The doors to the outbuildings that house the rooms were ramshackle. The rooms themselves looked like they were last decorated about 30 years ago. The TV was a 20 year old mini tv with free view that didn’t hold the signal. Neither tv or kettle had a PAT testing sticker. The bathroom was grubby...

'Great quirky cottage, excellent location for visiting Rutland. Fiona was lovely, excellent communication and we really appreciated the welcome pack of groceries - very thoughtful. Beds were very comfortable. Loved the peacefulness of the place. '

'Enjoyable stay on Puzzle, attractive and comfortable, boat. Peaceful and quiet, we liked watching riverside life. Great for walks by the river and easy to walk to the town. Internet access was limited as there is no Wi-Fi, but ok for a few days stay. We hope to return in the future'

'Thank you for a wonderful stay at Rivernene Cottages. Hosts Stephen and Phil were amazing and could not do enough for all the guests.
