'Despite an excellent location just next to the entrance to the cathedral, this hotel is another of those run-down, bleak firetraps from way back in the last century. You know it's old as soon as you climb the narrow stairs to the tiny reception area and notice the grimy carpet and chipped woodwork. Getting to your room involves climbing meandering stairs that go one way, up another short flight of stairs, and then still in another direction. (There is no lift.) My room had a nice bed but little...

'the hotel was beautiful, lovely room and amazing bathroom. parking was difficult, the hotel us on a main road so nowhere to unload. nearest parking is above a shopping mall opposite that seems to have a million exits, i was directed to the wrong one but some not very helpful locals. i had 3 heavy bags so it took the shine off the stay somewhat. also the hotel has no staff on site so everything is keyless. weird but functional but they are available on text message and phone. there’s no food...

' Eye convenient. One member of staff was just lovely she couldn’t have done more to help so friendly. Another was really unfriendly and very moody. I felt as though I was a pain for being there. Breakfast was ok, poached eggs hard and tasted of vinegar. '

'Hotel ligt op het terrein van de kathedraal. 's Nachts heel stil. Je zit midden in het centrum van Canterbury, alles is binnen loopafstand. De bedden zijn heerlijk. De badkamer is een openbaring: je kan douchen zonder dat de spiegel beslaat. Het ontbijt overtreft alles: ruime keuze uit Continental buffet, plus een kaart met heerlijke extra's, zoals volledig english breakfast, eggs Benedict, etc. Alle ontbijt opties zonder extra kosten!'

'Dichtbij het centrum. Online stond er hotel, maar is eigenlijk b&b. Afgeleefd, geen verwarming in badkamer. Je kon ontbijt eten maar moest op de kamer waar er eigenlijk geen plaats voor was.'

'We had a lovely welcome to the hotel, being shown to our room and being recommended local restaurants for our trip. The room and hotel were both lovely - well kept, clean and homey - breakfast was very delightful and customer service was all round wonderful, would definitely visit again. Thankyou both :)'

'When I arrived it said there was a reception at the rear. There was nothing but a locked door. I was lucky that there was a fellow guest who could let me in and ring the manager. When I got in the room it was unmade from the previous guest, the sheets where dirty, there were bedsheets in the washbasin, dirty towels on the bed, the two towels that were folded up and put in the wardrobe were stained. The duvet smelled of urine. All in all very dirty and you'd be better going somewhere clean.'

'In over 30 years of travelling on business, this is one of the best places I have stayed in.Although I did not meet the owners it was clear that the accommodation was well looked after and virtually everything had been thought of for the comfort of their guests. Virtually everything was absolutely spotlessly clean.The only small point I noticed was that there was dirt around the toilet seat hinge - a bit of a dirt trap and difficult to access(I'm sounding like a "Four in a Bed" contestant...

'De zaak was volledig volboekt, waardoor we een kamer kregen die eigenlijk niet geschikt was voor een koppel. Ook het bed was zeer slecht. De zaakvoerder was zo eerlijk om dat toe te geven en bood ons daarom het verblijf gratis aan, inclusief ontbijt! We hebben toch betaald. Van andere gasten hoorden we dat ze wel tevreden waren en geregeld terugkeren.'

'Situated very remote but quite and green environment. No tv in the room, every day same breakfast existing out a pre-packed croissant, mango juice, some home made granola and some oat milk. Coffee is available in the room but does not get refilled once used. We stayed 2weeks, during that time the bed linen has not been changed and room is only cleaned once together with towels. Good for short stays… '

'Host Deb was friendly but this did not compensate for a room and house that smelt stale- a mix of dog and cigarette smoke. Keeping the windows open meant lots of noise from the busy road. Shower tray was blocked. Doesn't offer actual breakfast (as advertised) but was offered some toast. Generally poor experience.'

'I arrived could not find the accommodation, went on line and discovered that the accommodation was permanently closed. I had to pay for alternate accommodation and have not had any contact from Expedia '

'The property was very clean and tidy. The Continental Breakfast provided was varied, plentiful and fresh. We only met the owner, Rosie and one other member of staff called Linda. Both were very welcoming, nice, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we didn’t really have time to investigate the area as our stay there had been for the purpose of visiting friends who we had met on previous holidays abroad and to attend their daughter’s wedding. We wouldn’t hesitate to book to stay at Hogwarts again...
