'In a very good location for public transport and central as well, not too far to walk even to get into fareham itself. I have stayed at this accommodation 3 times now and never any problems and nothing is too much for the staff well looked after'

'Really enjoyed our stay at Ashbys. Steve and Mubi were warm, welcoming and helpful and the room and public spaces (lounge / games room, kitchen, bar area) were comfortable and well equipped. It was clear that a lot of thought has been given to making Ashbys a unique place to stay: welcoming, relaxing and fun. A great location too for the bars, seafront and Southsea attractions! Our bathroom window needed a blind - more for the neighbours than anything! - and the bedroom a second bedside table...

'Zeer vriendelijke gastvrouw die gezellig een praatje komt maken als je dat op prijs stelt en voor je klaar staat. Prima eenvoudig en meer dan voldoende ontbijt. De B&B zit in een oud victoriaans gebouw, badkamer kan een opknapbeurt gebruiken (voorbereiding daarvan leek al in gang gezet). Daarom iets lagere score op netheid en staat van accommodatie. Op loopafstand vind je de ferry naar Portsmouth met een oude haven en nieuwe shoppingoutlet en boulevard met arcades, kermis en meer vermaak.'

'Self service so expected some instructions - couldnt get tv to work. Coffee, tea n sugar provided - no milk. Kettle supplied on shelf - no plug nearby. Low light - difficult to read. However good location, warn and clean - also cheap. :)'

'Had a lovely stay at the hotel. It was still off season and a bit quiet but the manager was very welcoming and made me feel an honoured guest. Everything is at walking distance so very convenient!'

'A really lovely little place to stay. The room was spacious and the bed super comfortable. Having kitchen facilities to use is a bonus although we didn’t use them. The shower wasn’t great (rain head only) and I really struggled to work it. It would also be great to have a mirror in the bedroom area for getting ready as the only mirror was in the bathroom. '

'Room was a little tired but overall okay. Minor issues like ripped wallpaper etc. My only issue was the fact the latch was slightly damaged on the inside so I had no way to properly lock the door. I had to put the chain on and shove a doorstop under the door, as a solo female traveller this made me a little uncomfortable. Walls are very thin so be aware if you’re a light sleeper.
