We booked this hotel via expedia, with our other bookings for the week. This included hotels, flights and excursions with my 9 year old son. We booked this hotel close to the airport as we had an early flight and wanted to be close and it looked secure and quaint for the end of our adventure.
keep in mind, we booked way in advance and through expedia, who were aware of the travel itineraries with a child.
The day of check-in, the hotel informed us at 9:30 am, that we were not going to be able to get a room as their "policy" discriminates for children under 11. We were packed and checking out of out resort in Cozumel to catch the ferry to Playa Del Carmen to catch our private shuttle to the hotel in Cancun. All arrangements had been made to have an easy experience while travelling alone with my son. All arrangements coordinated and paid for.
We were left at the last minute to find accommodations as the neither the hotel or expedia had sent information with regards to the "policy" of exclusion of children at the hotel.
We missed the ferry ride to Playa Del Carmen and had to arrange a hotel last minute on the side of the ferry dock on Cozumel, in a panic. we managed to catch the next ferry and find a hotel (during Spring break in the US and March break in Canada) that would accommodate us last minute. Luckily it was available. The hotel and expedia refuse to return the fee for the room.
