'Huisje ligt op een mooie plek op een vakantiepark met verder voornamelijk stacaravans. Er zijn voorzieningen op het park (zwembad bijv tegen betaling). Vanaf het park is er ook een directe toegang tot het meer (Windermere). Het huisje is voor een gezin met 3 kinderen (1, 5, 7 jr) of meer dan 2 volwassenen echter wel vrij krap. Wij vonden het huisje niet zo schoon: het keukengerei was soms nog vies/vet, we vonden onder tafel vies ondergoed en sokken (?!). Ook waren er te weinig schone handdoeken....

'4 night mid week break in the Easter holidays. We booked with a special offer so was a reasonable price for school holidays. The lodge is in a lovely area of the park near to the lake. The lodge is nice, but is compact compared to others - I would describe more as a big static caravan. Stayed with my husband and 2 sons aged 8 & 11. We dropped on with gorgeous weather so were outside a lot, but would have been a bit cramped if we were inside a lot in worse weather. The hot tub was gorgeous and...

'Fantastic location in a very picturesque setting with a lovely little river flowing across the bottom of the field. The Shepherds hut was spotless with home made cakes an eggs supplied by the owner. The only thing that spoiled it for us was the chemical toilet smell that seemed to linger around the hut and we had to burn a lavender candle (provided ) to take it away. Not sure if it is normal for it to smell strongly but looking at previous reviews , probably not. '

"A very pleasant one night stay in a very comfortable standard room. Tea making facilities were welcomed and the Hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the station. Buffet breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. The building itself is a lovely historical place and we had a peaceful nights sleep. Bathroom was modern with a great sized shower. "
