'We had such a lovely stay at the Bassenthwaite Lodges. The lodge was all ready with the necessities and was lovely and clean. Great location to the lake and a lovely little park on site for children. Highly recommend and hope to return in the future'

'We stayed for two nights in the pig pod. It was extremely comfortable and cosy. Children loved the built in bunk beds. Great location with wonderful views and quick access to the heart of the lakes. Enjoyed toasting marshmallows on the fire pit. Wonderful stay and will visit again.'

'Lovely caravan in a convenient and beautiful location. The caravan itself was clean and well equipped. The outdoor bath was a huge hit with the children. The owners of the farm on which the caravan is located couldn't be more friendly and accommodating if they tried. My son, 13, had a brilliant time helping to milk the cows. He didn't want to leave really. The amount of space for the children to play in was great too. I'd certainly recommend this place to families.'

'Nice log cabin with beautiful view. Warm, friendly owner. Perfect bed, good stuffed kitchen. Instead of a dishwashing brush there was sponge, but that might be a Continental thing!'

'This place is not about the cleanliness or hygiene, it about getting back into the natural world, seeing Mother Nature at her best, taking advantage of the lovely wilderness. It was so peaceful and tranquil, the sound of the stream next to us was amazing! Would definitely recommend! Currently looking for my own hut I’ve lived it so much!'

'We had a wonderful Easter Weekend in the log cabin. Location is great - 20/25 mins from Carlisle, lots of lovely walks around. So peaceful, the log cabin itself is fab and has everything you need. Tracey and David were really friendly and i enjoyed lots of strokes with the dogs too! We will 100% be back again soon, thank you for such a great weekend away'

'Well proportioned, clean property set within a beautiful location. Would happily stay again at this price point. Could be noted that the site Wi-Fi is essentially £30 a week which is mildly annoying, but hopefully you’ll be spending your days out and about enjoying the incredible scenery!'

'We had a great holiday. We stay for 4 nights ( 4 adults and 2 children (10 and 6)). The lodge is very cosy and it is very spacious. My son was very happy watching the ducks swimming in the pond. Children watched rabbits running around outside the lodge. Our grandparents flew over from Lithuania and they were left awestruck. Highly recommended Many Thanks😊'

'It was a good cabin and very clean. Everything was there that we needed. Pub on site was a little expensive not really ideal for a family budget but the pub up the road was a little better. Kids were disappointed that the pony trekking had closed and is still advertising on the website. Other than that we overall had a well earned brealk'
