Just returned from a spring break trip. 2 adults & 4 kids age 10-14. We had a great time. I read through many reviews before we traveled and had concerns going into the trip as a result - I want to address some of those here.
This resort has a "party" Tuesday - Saturday at a pool on the far side of the resort. On weeknights, the party wraps up in the early evening and we wouldn't have known there was one going on other than the stream of people leaving. Our first night (Saturday) we could hear the distant thumping of bass all night and even after dawn... our rooms were on the far side of the resort, as far from the party pool as possible, and we believe this noise was from a club off-site and unrelated to the pool parties. Kids didn't hear it. Woke me up a couple times. So, no issues with the parties - there are definitely middle-aged adults making awful life decisions as you'll see in any Cancun resort, but that was not front and center.
Clean resort, clean rooms. The double beds are definitely on the small side but our kids were happy to trade that sleeping experience for beautiful days on the beach. I wish the beds were larger but it wouldn't prevent me from coming back.
Food was really good. We tried Shangra-La (Asian) and Margarita (Mexican) and both were excellent. Staff was kind and funny, interacted with the kids and helped them practice their Spanish. The buffet was huge and had a massive variety of food that slightly changed each day.
We had a great time!
