'We stayed here for 7 days and had such a great experience. The property is very kid-friendly and had everything we needed all utensils, washing machine (with washing powder), WiFi, and even some basic food and water to get us by when we first arrived. The outdoor area is so big and spacious for a family bbq or to lounge around, not to mention the pool. The rooms were spacious, master bedroom has air con and an ensuite. The second bedroom downstairs also has air con. The house also has a bathroom...

'The property is quaint does not have all the bells and whistels of resorts, however the location is great and the staff was very helpfull. The price for my stay was very reasonable. I rented a car for my weeks stay, I would suggest that it makes your vacation very enjoyable. The owner Vaiana George and the Fijian lady very helpful. I would reccomend the Hiddem Gem for a budget vacation. '

'Location was perfect but drunk older women yelling all night until 3 am was a bit much. Advice was to lock all doors and windows because of petty thieves but at least 3 windows didn't close let alone lock. Very clean, comfortable beds but owners need to spend some money on basic handyman updates. Oh and fix the pool deck and add a paddle so the kayaks can be used to full advantage,'

'Turou Retreat was everything I hoped it would be. It is a lovely, clean, spacious and well equipped family home. The large deck lends itself to relaxing, eating your brekkie, enjoying a G&T or whatever takes your fancy. We had a birthday BBQ lunch and everyone agreed it was the ideal setting.Thank you so much Linda to you and your family for making your home available and welcoming.We loved our stay. 'We liked staying here. The one thing we didn't like was the lack of curtains in the living, kitchen area. People walk up and down the walkway right beside the house. If you have just got up and wearing your pyjamas, everyone can see you making your breakfast or coffee. Light curtains would be nice. They would also help with shutting out the afternoon heat. '

'The property is true to pictures, private and calming, right on the beach, you are between two channels so care should be taken when swimming however this is just common sense. The property was well equiped with everything we need, you can self cater with indoor and outdoor cooking options. We had a car so access to shops etc was very easy, there is a bus service or you can hire bikes as an option on the Island and there are plenty of eating options and convenience stores all round the Island....

'We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the GT Fishing Lodge. We loved the space it provided, the cleanliness, the pool, and the privacy. The host was helpful and cheerful and we will definitely be back for another family holiday!'

'Nice location. Lovely garden. Close to a service station/shop. Good coffee place along the road. Buses a bit hit and miss. We had bicycles, non e ones, good condition, shame about some of the roads. Relaxing and peaceful. '

The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Lagoonarium

"Goed: Beste locatie van Rarotonga met prachtige lagoon om te snorkelen met mooie tropische vissen en murenes. Kamers op zich prima, wat verouderd, maar wel super schoon. Slecht: Deels verouderd. Restaurant is verschrikkelijk en zeer ongezellig. Eten zeer matig en niet 4* waardig. Keuken ziet er niet schoon uit ook. Ga lekker bij het restaurant aan de overkant eten, veel beter en enthousiaste eigenaar. Cocktails zijn kant en klaar en niet te zuipen. Ontbijt is ok, maar kan ook een kwaliteitseis upgrade gebruiken. Veel ziet er om 0900 niet meer vers uit. Omgeving zwembad niet schoon (zwembad zelf wel) en gevaarlijke putjes voor kinderen. Waterpark kapot en onveilig. Veel kokosnoten in bomen pal boven ligbedjes, heel gevaarlijk. Ligebedden hebben geen kussens zoals op de foto’s. Veel ongebruikte ruimten. Het slechte is dat bovengenoemde al jaren in de reviews staat, maar blijkbaar neemt het management deze niet serieus omdat klanten toch wel blijven komen. Advies: neem een goede hotel manager aan, knap de boel echt een keer op en neem feedback serieus, vernieuw je restaurant, neem een goede chef-kok aan en maak het aantrekkelijk voor gasten. Jammer want je kan hier een fantastisch resort van maken op zo’n locatie. Ondanks alles wel een prima verblijf gehad hoor, dus ga er gerust heen. "
