Overall this resort would EASILY be a 10/10, but we encountered an unfortunate experience that drastically changes this rating. The property is beautiful. The service and hospitality were welcoming. The food, drinks, and desert were all good, with a wide variety. The resort offered plenty of activities throughout the day and night. There is also access to water activities available at the resort’s beach. There were 3 issues that we experienced during our stay. Two of those issues were no major inconvenience to me, however it could be for someone else. The first non major issue was the outlet closest to the balcony door had tiny mites or bugs, that appeared to be orange or brown. It didn’t bother me much, because the mites/bugs only moved when you tried to plug a cord into the socket. We simply used the other sockets in the room, as the outlet by the door was the only one to have the mites/bugs. The second non major issue was construction next door late into the night. Live Aqua is currently adult only and in the process of building a family resort next door, that’ll include a casino and water park! On saturday night I spent time on and off outside relaxing on our ocean view terrace, that included our own infinity pool. The construction lasted from ATLEAST 8pm, until 2 or 3am. There was no construction sunday at all. This again wasn’t a major issue for me. Yes, I would’ve liked to listen to the ocean while relaxing, but I was only outside in spurts, and had other days to enj

The resort I would say is good for a person that has never been to an all inclusive. The room was great. The property was clean. The spa was enjoyable. The food unfortunately was not the greatest. The options felt limited. No option for a buffet at dinner wasn’t good (the buffet for lunch and dinner was Luke warm at points). Also the constant asking to attend a presentation to become a VIP member felt like harassment after a while. Also after about 7 or 8pm, there’s basically one bar open for the general use, so you could be waiting sometimes up to 10 minutes for a drink. I don’t think I would go again.

Overall the property is nice. The entertainment is mid grade. The spa was great. Food was decent. Hotel does have a slight mop water smell in the hallway of the rooms lobby smells great, our wash cloths weren’t replaced until the final day and the shower drained needed cleaning. If the shower ran too long it over flowed into the bathroom area. I love the flip flops and beach bags they give you. Overall not terrible for the price but wouldn’t stay here again.

First and foremost, this place was amazing from the moment we first arrived felt welcomed/wanted everyone was so friendly.Everyone had big beautiful smiles very polite, ready and willing to serve a hand and foot.Was greeted by our concierge Luica the smile of them all she’s funny, nice, she’s truly amazing at her job.One of the best experiences I’ve had so far, honestly felt like royalty.I’m talking about from the time we walked in they escorted us to the vip area where we had hand massages while we were checking in, awesome! we even had a butler it’s worth paying the extra.Now the room! 8202 right on the beach you can hear the waves from the bed the breeze,the view! I want to give a special thanks to Confessor, you will forever be my friend.From the first day he made us feel like we had a friend he was pure served us drinks had the chef make us some lunch an amazing man. Also want to thank a couple other people who were a big part of my awesome experience.The concierge Daniella was amazing she and her staff made the best Dominican dish I’ve ever had wish I remembered the waiters name and the chef they was amazing to me.Manuel at atl was awesome that’s someone else who wanted to make our experience amazing he and the chef again made us a special and delicious dish.I want to give a special thanks to those who made this experience special for us we truly appreciate you all.I will be back to see my friends at live aqua resort p.s please fix the jacuzzi for the next time we visit

This property seems overrated in Expedia, 9 out of 10 is not align with what we experienced there. I think the biggest challenge they have is in their food. Been an all inclusive resort far away any place where you can find food out of the resort, you would expect the food to be extremely good, which is not the case. I guess our experience was unique, since we got food poisoned in the second day and had to be transferred to the hospital in an ambulance and then spent 3 out of 4 days of the package at the hospital, which was not reimbursed and no one said anything more than sorry... Anyway I guess that was bad luck. Having said that out of the 7 restaurant we get to try 5 before been food poisoned, the one for breakfast and the Italian one are ok. The Sushi one was the worst, I guess it was brave from us to try that one and the other two were the Peruvian and the Mediterranean which are where we suspect we got intoxicated. We don’t think it was the sushi one because we did not finished our meals, but who knows. At the end very poor experience… Hope no one else pass through an experience like this.

Hotel and restaurants are great. We didn’t receive resort credit nor room upgrade. However we did late check out at no cost. Water of the pool was cold , it didn’t have a heater.

Live Aqua -food Italian restaurant: the Italian restaurant provided some solid fare. The cuisine was just a tier below fine dining, but where they excelled was the service and the consistency of their pasta sauce. Breakfast buffet: we visited the breakfast buffet everyday. For my waffle lovers I don’t think they have waffles we never saw them. Here you are served local fresh squeezed juices, potatoes, omelets, pancakes, assorted breads, and any other food you can name honestly. The buffet items are at your discretion & there is also a menu for those who want a more specific dish. French restaurant: The potatoes here could have been better. The presentation and service were excellent. The steak was actually really good and their sauce provided a distinct flavor. Outdoor a La carte buffet: The food here is great for on the go or quick casual dining when you want to enjoy the ambiance. Atmosphere If you’ve read the reviews then you should have gleaned that this is a resort for RELAXATION not a party resort. With that being said, the resort does offer quality entertainment options with its in house theater, foam pool & neon beach parties. First and foremost all of the staff we encountered were absolutely incredible. Club level is the way to go for the most holistic experience. The hand massage upon arrival is excellent. During our stay we had two butlers assigned to us for both rooms. Fuego suite is in main building w/ rooftop pool. Tierra Suite is beachfront privacy
