'Clean room. Few spider webs but it is an old property. I personally found bed very soft and uncomfortable. Felt the place was run to suit the staff more than the customer. Food was okay. Had dinner and breakfast. If I’m in the area again it’s not somewhere I’d choose to stay.'

'All the staff we met were great, cheerfull helpfull and polite. The room was clean and comfortable and what one expects in a very old building. Only 4 stars for 2 reasons the shower only worked on the large head and the food choices were very limited both in the restaurant and at breakfast. No salads and limited vegetables in restaurant.No fruit or cereal at breakfast. The hotel is remote which is part of it's appeal for us so going out in the evening is not an option,I would have struggled...

'Good central location for overnight stop in Penrith with parking. Decent size room, reasonably clean and quiet. Stair carpet filthy though needs replacement. Tea and coffee sachets not replenished, tollet roll holder hanging off wall.'
