'I absolutely loved this ryokan. The pictures online do not do it justice; the property is even better in person. The staff were very welcoming. The meals were amazing. The property was bigger than I thought it would be. The setting was peaceful. It was exactly what I was looking for. My only recommendation is that the shuttle from the train station should have a sign with the name of the property. '

'Kenji was a very nice host and his "guest house English" speaking was wonderful!! It is a perfect location if you are looking to wake up early and walk to the bamboo forest, you can be one of the first people there. Kenji also gave us recommendations of places to visit in the area that you otherwise may not have known about. '

'Modern hotel with old Japan touches. Loved the yakata robes and tatami mat floors. Most comfy Japanese hotel bed ever. The cafe that serves breakfast below was amazing and I loved the quiet location in Arashiyama. It was an easy 15 minute walk to the river.'

'The staff were so friendly and helpful, we loved the traditional breakfast, they were accommodating to my husband who can’t eat fish. They have a courtesy bus that takes you to Arashiyama which I didn’t know and so glad they suggested. The futons are hard but I got used to them. They also said their onsen is tattoo friendly. But most of the place is in such a spectacular forest it was so pretty in the late autumn I will definitely be going back. '

'Nice place. Chose the dormitory, the bed does creak with every movement as it is made of wood. It was good for a one night stay for me, but if you are staying for 2 night or more, I recommend choosing the rooms instead. Lovely staff though, I was able to leave my luggage early in the morning before check in. '

'Heerlijk verblijf gehad in het hotel. Mooie kamer, goed ontbijt. Vriendelijk personeel én natuurlijk de heerlijke spa. Echt een pluspunt. Even ontspannen na een intensieve dag was heerlijk. Gescheiden spa, waar je je eerst helemaal schoonboent van top tot teen voordat je gaat ontspannen in het heerlijk warme water. Wij hebben genoten van dit hotel! Ook nog een pluspunt: dichtbij metrostation '
