'The hotel is dated and dark and needs upkeep. I paid for a king-size room, but the internet connection didn't work there, so I had to be moved to a double, which was just as dark, with torn carpet and broken lampshades. The internet connection did work there, but the TV stopped working after a while. 'We stayed the week before Christmas in a lovely room with fireplace. The house exuded holiday charm and history. Breakfast is beautifully presented and excellent. Our bed was comfortable. We had chairs to relax by the fire. While the bathroom was tiny, it was functional with enough space to put toiletries plus multiple hooks and towel bars.
