'This was a perfect place to experience Japan. It had traditional Japanese accomodations and food but also with many high tech conveniences. The staff was very helpful in getting us taxis to easily visit locations like the imperial palace or the Bamboo Forest. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wishes to have a great experience in Kyoto. '

'This place is worth the splurge! It's beautifully hidden and away from the main street, making it feel like you're stepping into historical Kyoto. It's a cozy apartment that has luxury, modern amenities, like an open air bath, great bedrooms (both western and traditional) and lovely rain-style shower, and a minimalistic living room. We only stayed one night, but we will plan to stay at least two to three next time!'

'The hotel staff were all nice. They are very friendly and helpful. It is well maintained because it is a small hotel . The room was spacious and nicely decorated. I would stay again .'

'We had a fabulous 4 night stay at the Mogana Hotel in Kyoto. We stayed in room 701 which was spacious and had a balcony. The room was well appointed - water, juices, tea and coffee were replenished each day. The staff was very attentive and spoke very good English. We ordered the western style breakfast which was served in our room. It was beautifully presented and more importantly, delicious. There is a very small bar on the second floor that had small but good selection of wine and...

'One of the best experience in Japan, very kind and lovely staff, very helpful, and excellent service!! Please don’t be put off by the location, it’s not very far from metro station. Rooms are very spacious for Japan!! Will happily stay again if we are in Kyoto!'

'When you arrive, you’re welcomed with a cup of tea and some treats. The entrance hall is very luxurious. There is also a bar with complimentary coffee, tea, wine, and sake. The staff are very friendly. The room is spacious, and the toilet and shower are separate, which is very convenient. There is also an excellent washing machine in the room. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it.'

'Beste hotelervaring ooit, hotel is schoon en nieuw. Het ruikt al heerlijk als je binnenkomt. Personeel is vriendelijk en aangenaam in de omgang. Kamer zijn mooi schoon nieuw en luxe. Ik ben zo teleurgesteld dat ik niet langer ben gebleven. Ik zou iedereen dit hotel aanraden!'

'The Front desk and Concierge were amazing and set me up for an amazing Japan Adventure'

'Expensive breakfast and not worth the price- only negative. Hotel is within a cab ride of all attractions or a 20 minute walk. Staff are very friendly and hotel is clean and rooms are beautiful.'

'Prima hotel om in te verblijven, Engels van personeel is echter wel wat beperkter. Locatie is fijn, vlakbij metrostation en bushalte.'

'Super nice hotel in the citycenter but close to public transportation. Great friendly staff.'

'Helpful staff. Great location. Large room.'

'La chambre était démesurément grande et bien pensée! Un vrai bonheur. L’accueil très chaleureux cela fait du bien d’avoir des gens en face et pas des machines pour s’enregistrer ! Le petit déjeuner de style japonais était très copieux.'

'Incredible hotel, friendly staff'

'We left medicine in the room and they sent it to the next hotel on our stay with complimentary shipping !! That shows the level of service , in one word amazing..'

'The reception is friendly and the room is spacious enough and stylish. However, the room is very dark, there are opaque windows (which you cannot open) and additionally, some sliding doors which are also opaque, as a result, you cannot even guess what the weather is like outside. In the morning you need to check the weather forecast to decide how to dress. Moreover, I forgot my electric brush (a rather fancy one), and informed them on the same day, asking whether I could come back to pick it up....

'The check in location is really inconvenient, they should make the prices completely online'

'We absolutely loved this hotel! Fantastic location that was out of the busyness of the main districts but in close walking proximity to convenience stores, restaurants, places for coffee and breakfast, and of course the castle and the imperial palace grounds. Great rooms - such a fantastic size for Japan, which was great for our crawling ten month old who wanted to crawl and pull himself up on everything. Staff were lovely and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.'
