'Family of four (with 8yo twins) stayed here in November 2025. It's a beautiful inn, comfortable and clean and quiet, with friendly staff and good food for breakfast and dinner. The bath is lovely -- staff help you book a time in the evening at check in, and it's available on a first come first served basis in the morning. Breakfast & dining were very good, We tried the onsen, it was outstanding, after this you really feel born again. 'Great hotel and clean. Very nice onsen and massage chair. I would definitely return! The walk from the tramway is 6 minutes along flat, but otherwise the walk up from the station is worth taking a taxi as it is quite steep.'

'This felt like a luxury apartment with a private onsen, large tv and bbq. The location itself is near a train station and several bus stops. Please be aware that this property is on a mountain so getting to those might stretch your calf muscles. Lovely location!'

'The accommodations were outstanding. Exactly what I wanted. It felt very traditional while also having modern amenities. Loved the traditional clothing they gave us, the private onsen we had, and the kaiseki meals. If you want a cultural experience but with modern comforts, this is the place!'

'The staff were incredibly friendly, spoke English, and explained everything about staying in a ryokan. The room was beautiful and spotless. The food was impeccable. The baths were clean and stocked with products. I truly couldn't recommend this ryokan more. It's a hidden gem. Pro tip: do NOT walk there. The hill is killer - take the cable car. '
