This part of Marylebone sits between two of the area's best-known landmarks: the Wallace Collection, a free museum of decorative art housed in a historic townhouse, and Regent's Park, with its rose gardens, boating lake and open-air theatre in the summer months. Manchester Square and the surrounding streets are quietly residential, while Marylebone High Street, a few minutes further on, brings together independent boutiques, La Fromagerie's much-loved deli and café, and the Monocle Café on Chiltern Street. The Golden Hind has served proper fish and chips on Marylebone Lane for decades, and remains one of the area's most genuine local institutions.

Fitzrovia lies just to the east, adding a wider choice of restaurants and late-opening bars, while Oxford Street's shops are a short walk south for a change of pace. Baker Street, with the Sherlock Holmes Museum and Madame Tussauds, is also within easy reach.
