« It was the perfect property for peace, quiet and relaxation with the family! Super close to Custer for access to an last minute amenities. Really great location as ‘home-base’ with convenient access to all the great parks and hiking SD has to offer. »

« Very peaceful location. House was clean. Has large yard and would be great area to sit outside at night on a summer night. Hosts were attentive and prompt when we requested additional firewood for the wood burning stove. Had four fawns visit one evening. Spent all waking hours sight seeing and visiting attractions. If you have not experienced a self recycling toilet, you may be surprised. But I must say, due to the way the toilet vents there is absolutely no odor. The bed and toilet sit high, so...

« Went on early season visit to Mount Rushmore and Custer state park. Beautiful area and we had the privilege of being first to stay at the property being renovated. Cottage was very nice and will be back. »

« We rented this home as overflow while we were visiting family nearby. Nice home. Very clean and comfortable. Six of us stayed there and it would have felt crowded with any more people, but was perfect for our group. Very close to the Mammoth site and a nice park down the street with playgrounds, etc. »

« We loved the town of Custer and this charming house was right in the heart of it. We were able to walk to restaurants and shops. The location was also a perfect jumping off point for seeing the sites in the Black Hills. We went far and wide and decided our favorite excursion was a day in Custer State Park, where we saw Bison and Prairie Dogs and a host of other wildlife. It was awesome to come home each day to the peaceful little cottage where we ended the evening with a movie and then to bed....

« We had a great stay! The house was perfect for our short get away and the lake view was beautiful. Everything was clean and had all the items needed for our stay. We love golfing so having the course so close by was a big plus. Can’t wait to return for a longer stay! »

« Cute little cottage with the perfect location! Close enough that Main Street Custer is within walking distance, but just enough removed from the main drag that it felt quiet and safe. Playground next door was a big bonus for the kids. House was clean and comfy. »

« This was our first trip to the Black Hills, and the Little Elk Cottage was the perfect setting for our trip. The cottage is adorable, very private and within reasonable driving times to the area’s attractions. The cottage was well equipped and well furnished.
