Overall, our stay was okay, but several issues made the experience more stressful than it needed to be.Communication before check-in was inconsistent, and we didn’t receive key instructions until after we landed. Since we were arriving after dark, it was difficult to find the key, determine which apartment was ours, and navigate parking. We were told where to park but not how to pay, which was confusing as international travelers unfamiliar with the local system. Clearer instructions sent ahead of time would have made a huge difference.When we arrived, the apartment was very hot because the air conditioning wasn’t on. It would have been much more welcoming if it had been cooled before our arrival. After check-in, I received several messages with random photos and videos of Sicily, but local recommendations or walkable nearby restaurants and attractions would have been much more helpful.The apartment was very basic. There were no standard toiletries like shampoo or body wash, just a few small packets and an unlabeled bottle in the shower.The apartment was clean, towels were provided, and once we turned on the AC it cooled the space well. However, the entrance door is shared with another apartment, and the other guests frequently left it unlocked, which made us feel less secure.Overall, it met the basic need for a clean place to sleep, but better communication, clearer arrival instructions, and a few basic amenities would greatly improve the guest experience.
