Beautiful Colonial Home in a Peaceful Setting Bordering Natchaug State Forest

Beautiful Colonial home is nestled in a section surrounded by the Natchaug State Forest. It is close to Route 44, 101 & Interstate 395! The home has hardwood flooring throughout. With 7 rooms, 3 bedrooms (upper level) & 2 full baths and 1 half bath. The large modern kitchen opens to the dining and living rooms. The kitchen has granite counter tops and center island, a large over-sized refrigerator / freezer. A bonus room on the first floor off the kitchen could be used as an office, den or play room. Our home sleeps 6. The master suite has a walk in closet, master bath and double sinks. A second floor laundry, 2 car garage and pull down attic space. Full unfinished walk out basement. Large 5 acre lot bordering the Natchaug State Forest.

We are available for daily nights, weekly or monthly. (two days minimum)
We located in the northeastern corner of Connecticut, called the “Quiet Corner” of New England, in Pomfret, Connecticut close to Route 44, 101 & Interstates 84 & 395. We are nestled in the forest, far from the stress of daily life. In the area, you’ll find fresh fruit and vegetable stands, orchards, vineyards, historic towns, art galleries, antique markets and shops, lakes and streams, and several state parks. The state "Airline Trail" offers 50 miles of hiking, biking and horse riding trails. The Natchtaug State forest borders our property. The Mashamoquet State Park and the Audubon Sanctuary are 4 miles away. You can also drive a short distance to the Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos, Old Sturbridge Village and Mystic Seaport. It is also less than an hour's drive from Hartford, Providence and Worcester and only a 20 mile drive from the University of Connecticut at Storrs. Boston is 90 miles Northeast and New York City 150 miles Southwest. Enjoy long walks in the woods, cross-country skiing, fishing, or just for a place to get away from it all.
Our Home is only a few minutes to Pomfret and Rectory Schools, as well as the numerous scenic drives, destination restaurants, antique stores and boutiques in Windham County.

Could not be happier with our stay. The place is beautiful and was absolutely spotless. Love the open floor plan and other amenities. The host was readily available and answered my calls when I had a questions immediately (for example, recommendations for restaurants, things to do in the area, etc.). I also don’t know how to explain it but it felt like you were “home” and not at all like a rental. In addition, the mattresses were so comfortable. This is not something one might notice, but I have rented some places with horrible mattresses resulting horrible sleep. But the mattresses here were lovely and I had a great night sleep every Lastly, we forgot an item at the house, The host Mario called us to let us know and is going to bring it to my son at his college!!!!! If you are looking to stay in the area, I highly recommend renting this home. PS - my teenagers loved playing the piano in the home.

The house was perfect for our weekend stay.The kitchen was fully stocked, plenty of seating in the dining and living room.Beds were comfortable. Laundry room was a nice bonus! 5 of us stayed here for a week while we were at an event nearby. The place is gorgeous, huge, impecably clean, and for our purposes very convenient. We particularly appreciated the nice touches of a bottle of wine and some snacks, and the large and very functional washing machine/dryer setup, We’re immediately trying to rebook for a trip next year!. We met the host once during our stay and they delightfully gave us a tour and he made sure everything was going well. Lovely to have a VRBO experience so friendly.

Incredible gem in the woods!

This was my second time staying at this extraordinary property. The spacious home and grounds are impeccable and well-appointed (we particularly appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and huge backyard), and it’s minutes away from great hiking trails (we found the wolf’s den!) and a distillery that was an experience in itself. Can’t recommend this place enough.
