'The room was nice spacious but could use an update. And they made a fuss about me not wanting to eat in the special 'dog-area' because it felt like being put away... and too hot. i wanted outside but there they didn't serve... finally it was okay but i had to stand my ground and that was not so nice after a very long day's walk... beautiful sitting area outside though!'

'The meals were excellent both for quality and price, staff very helpful. The bed was comfortable however the windows did not close entirely. It was quite warm so not a major problem for us but the windows needed refurbishment so they be opened or closed easily. The electric shower was very weak. These issues were relatively minor given the pluses of staff, food and comfortable beds'

'We chose it for the spa which was well looked after and in good quality. The room was very tired, soft furnishing were ok but paint and decor was very old as was the bathroom. Food at the linden was adequate but at London prices. We only ate there once.'

'The bed was soft, one size. Personel was only one men, very kind. There is only breakfast, no dinner..For one or two nights is oke. You can walk in the park or in Notterburn self.'

'This is a little gem of an inn. The drive along the way is picturesque and Otterburn itself is darling. Our host for the Old Post Office was very accommodating. We arrived after the normal check-in time and she was very welcoming. Our room was immaculate and our shower had lots of hot water. Breakfast was excellent, including our coffees (flat white and vanilla latte). We also enjoyed the back patio area with plenty of seating. Definitely recommend this inn!'

'Great place to stay. In a great location for walking holiday and visiting local attractions. Place was kept in excellent condition. Lovely views of the hills and to watch the sun go down on a night. Nice bottle of wine left by the hosts for your arrival. Left to you own devices by the owners unless you had a problem. Would definitely stay again. '

'Staff were brilliant I have had breakfast before and fantastic plenty to eat Bar. And outside area great lots of room Sad to say it all needs updating up stairs. All bathrooms need updating and decor and carpets need gone. Definitely the WiFi needs sorting out so you can get on it when you are in your room I wanted to chill out and watch Netflix but no internet Apart from that always a lovely stay and they accept dogs which is fab'
