'Place was nice. No staff around if you needed something. We were good, no issues except the front door had a code to get in and we were texted that the code was last four digits of our phone number. It wasn’t , so took us awhile to get in, especially being there was no staff around to help.Parking was on street or parking lot at a closed restaurant next door. It was fine. 'We stayed in the 2 room suite and it was good! Pretty clean for the most part! Lots of room to spread out, which was nice. I would classify this as an air bnb more than a hotel. The building was easy enough to find but we did find it confusing to find our room. The property did need some love, but overall isn’t bad. 'This is such a cool and unique experience! Lots of history and the grounds are gorgeous! Air conditioning was powerful on those hot summer nights! However, the floor above us is private living quarters and the person was making noise until 2:00am. Bring headphones and a noise machine!'

'Austin was an amazing host with great dining recommendations in the area, including Cooperstown and the surrounding smaller towns, which were surprisingly good. Breakfast included lots of cereal, fruit, yogurt and other cold options, but the highlight was Austin's awesome waffles, his specialty. 'Our room was lovely with access to a beautiful porch with fabulous lake view. The room was also very comfortable and an adequate breakfast with coffee maker is available and always well stocked. There is no reception desk so we never encountered any one working there.'

If you don't mind shared and co-ed bath facilities except for a few rooms o, the first of three floors, no elevators, and communicating through text messaging this is just the right spot for you.'

'Unique experience for someone who normally stays in national chain hotels. The room I stayed in was designed and named after a Vietnam veteran who has passed. This was a happy coincidence since I work with veterans at a VA hospital. Located in the small village of Groton, it was quiet and serene. Nice get away for city dwellers.'
