Great location when you finally find it
The address is not accurate that you click. When we got to the address, we called and found out that we were just a block off. But the door is not numbered 4. There is another door that is 4, but it is not this one. We had some trouble finding the white door that did not have a 4 on it. We talked on the phone several times. And google did not find the right apartment either. It is a very fine apartment with a Murphy bed and a good size bedroom. The bathroom is also very nice. It is such a great location to walk to everything in fabulous Nimes! Like a mini Paris...discover the canal and a very fine garden through the gates just down the block. There are wonderful outdoor restaurants all over.
Mr. Gex needs to realize that when he yells at us in French, we are slow at comprehending the language. So shouting louder and faster is not helpful. We finally understood and complied with Mr. Gex orders that we vacuum and mop the entire apartment as well as walk the trashbags down the street and strip the beds of all linens. Our twins worked furiously under the orders of Mr. Gex standing there and shouting. They were quite intimidated. Understand that we have used VRBO for stays in Costa Rica, Hawaii, Paris, Iceland, etc....and have never had an experience of having to scrub the entire apartment. I am a very neat mom and the apartment was already swept and the bathroom cleaned as well as kitchen spotless--because we didn't use it to cook, only the fridge for juice and cold water. Mr. Gex must realize that you need to disclose on the website your expectations for cleaning. After 15 minutes of the 4 of us cleaning in high gear, Mr. Gex became very friendly to us. But upon our arrival home, I received an email demanding 20 more euros for cleaning. I will be contacting VRBO to have them follow up with the clarity of the cleaning expectations. If this is truly to be enforced, it should be communicated in English as well.
