'This is a great self catering apartment. Its 5 minutes walk from the main street in Franschhoek, set in a quiet residential area. Our host, Brian, had taken the trouble to recommend a local restaurant and even booked us a table where we could enjoy the magnificent sunset overlooking the valley. He has also done some enviable research into the local vineyards, restaurants, etc, and left his personal guide in our apartment for us to look through. 'Sad to leave but thrilled to have stayed at Akademie. However we do have unfinished business so we will be back, that is certain. Our room was just exceptional: spacious, well equipped and the staff fired up the balcony hottub based on our return time, you might think a hottub in the glorious weather we had, but yes…. To sit there for 30 minutes and just stare at the mountains and the blue sky above was magical. The breakfasts either served in the orangery of pool side were a taste bud delight....

'We enjoyed Boschendal again this year after having stayed there during peak COVID times in 2021. The concept is great and well executed. The liveliness of the winery really ads to the experience especially during Saturday picknicks and the Friday night market. Our daughter loved the large playground. Having visited all the top hotels in the wine lands (Delaire, Leeu etc.) We can honestly say we liked the breakfast best at Boschendal'
