'Pleasantly surprised. This looks like a small motel, but is an apartment complex that rents out a few units. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedroom a separate from the kitchen dining room. Just a few blocks from the beach… and a great beach club. For a low budget trip, this place was just great. The staff did not speak any english but google translate helped to facilitate good communication. '

'We stayed at the Ventus Ha resort for 5 days and enjoyed our stay. The food was really good but did not have a buffet available on resort, you only had the option of al a carte. If you wanted a buffet setting you had to go to one of the sister properties. The room service was a great option and was really pretty quick, plus food stayed hot. The room was good too. The beds were firm and it stayed cool with AC, plus had a ceiling fan. We did have to change rooms 3 days into our stay because...

'Great staff. The room was great. Ask to get a beachfront room on the 3rd floor. The trees on the property cut down on the ocean view for the 1st and 2nd floors. The hot tubs were not on. There is an area for a bar, but it is not staffed or stocked. Know before you go that this is in a residential area and there are no restaurants or markets within walking distance. Each cab ride to town was $50US. If you are looking for a remote getaway, this is a great option.'

'We adored Puerto Morellos. Fabulous beach and lots of great beach restaurants. Quiet town with lots of restaurants and live music. The property was cute and the staff very responsive and nice. Our only complaint was the sewer system which was emitting odour in our suite by the end of our stay. '

'The Cabana rooms are situated in a car park area so deliveries, waste removal vehicles early morning. No sunbeds allowed by unclean pool. Drink prices change according to who serves you. Beach bar beds stained and ancient. No free water as in other hotels, they run out 3 out 5 dats, no beach towels one day. Asked to speak to manager but wasnt allowed too. As one staff member said, just want your money but amenities so run down. Every other night karaoke music until about 1am from street behind...

'The room was assigned right next to the staircase, and it was extremely noisy. People were chatting late into the night, some were drunk, and there were even people arguing loudly at the staircase at 2 a.m. I called security three times, but they took a long time to arrive. I went to the front desk to complain and requested a room change. The staff then assigned me another room in a different building—but in the exact same location. Are you kidding me? On top of that, I was told I had to check...
