Labor Day get a way

Rustic house with decent bedrooms but no closets. Only major problem was squeaky floors. Would have been nice to know about the road construction in neighborhood. Centrally located the the main attractions in area.

Did not meet exceptions based on advertisement

Upon arrival discovered the coffee pot did not work however a new one was provided within one day, there was no hot water to the shower, which took 2 days to get fixed. The garage door would not close all the way nor lock and the POC stated the owner will not fix the garage door. The dining table and chairs did not match (it was a high table with low chairs and were not the table in chairs in the pics in the ad). The house in general was in a run down state, had a for sale sign out front and we were not the first to present the issues we experienced as others wrote in the guest log on the table concerning the coffee pot, the lack of hot water and the bee hive on the back wall. In addition the steps into the garage were also deteriorating which was actually a safety hazard to walk up and down.

Just okay.

I was a bit disappointed. When will I realize how deceiving pictures can be? It was clean and comfortable enough. Location wasn’t scary or anything just a very tired neighborhood. Kitchen was well supplied.

Just right

Quiet, very clean, air-conditioned, well stocked, friendly owner. Good location for jetting to hiking in the hills or to Deadwood for gambling and other fun. We'd definitely stay here again.

Nice, but...

Arrived late afternoon 3/28/21. Immediately found garbage in kitchen was full and took that out. Also found dishes in sink and light fixture in kitchen is full of dead bugs (same thing for bathroom shower fixture). Tried to connect to wi-fi using information sent in email from Evolve Vacation Rental Network, but couldn't connect. Called cleaning company using phone number provided. Was informed new wi-fi name and password were hand written on cover sheet of information folder in desk and received apologies for garbage and dishes. Later when preparing to make our evening meal we found a majority of pots, pans and lids were put away dirty. We cleaned all of those and in the process, opened the oven storage drawer looking for a baking sheet, to find mouse droppings in the drawer. Also found the coffee pot had not been cleaned. While doing the cleaning, we noticed the scrub brush in the kitchen sink contained old food particles and a long black human hair (rather disgusting). Later that evening while getting ready for bed, we found a pretzel on the carpet at the foot of the bed in the main bedroom. We tried to use the ceiling fan in that bedroom, but at any speed it produces a steady buzz/hum which is very annoying. In terms of maintenance items, the light fixture above the dining table had a light bulb out and the light fixture alongside mirror in bathroom is missing a diffuser and the garage door cannot be opened. Some recommendations; It would be nice to have some type of window covering on the back door since it is right next to the bathroom. It is disappointing to not have any local TV access. The TV+ and Netflix option is nice, but local information is sometimes needed, such as when there are wildfires in the areas you might like to be traveling to, as we experienced. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The "cabin" with it's "character" (not one square inch of surface is level), served it's purpose. What we are most disappointed in is the fact we were charged a Cleaning Fee and a Damage Protection Fee (which we never agreed to during the reservation process) and it would appear very little cleaning was done prior to our arrival and damaged or non-functional items are not being replaced. We have stayed at other Vrbo properties as part of a group, but will likley not be returning customers.

Weekend away

This was the perfect little cabin for a long weekend get away. It was clean and well kept. There was plenty of room for parking, and the back deck was the perfect spot for a morning cup of coffee, or cocktails in the evening.

Fractured my wrist because it wasn’t shoveled

It was a cute cabin, but when we arrived the sidewalks weren’t shoveled and I ended up fracturing my wrist because I fell. There was also garbage still on the back porch.

Small house

The snow was not removed from the driveway. There was ice on the sidewalk and we nearly fell several times when we got there. The floors in the house are so crooked that if you dropped a marble you could just go to the other side of the room to pick it up. There was not enough parking for two vehicles. The ceiling fan in the bedroom made noise all night long.

Great property and stat

This property was perfect for what we needed. Great location, with a nice coffee and breakfast place just down the street within walking distance. Check in was easy and so was the check out. Exactly like the pictures. Would definetely stay there again.
