THE GATEWAY is very convenient to visit the old city by foot, and to purchase local gastronomy from the most characteristic city-markets, as the famous ‘Mercato di Mezzo’ and the market town of medieval origins.

TRAIN STATION: <200 meters (5 min walking) or all bus solutions are around the corner (for heavy luggage only)

FROM / TO AIRPORT: <5 km or 30 minutes with Airbus (from train station stop)

BY CAR, 2 solutions:

- ‘Blue line’ parking areas around the building (and also in all Bologna) need a hourly-ticket to be paid in advanced on the small red machine, close to the blue line parking areas (ab. 2.5€/h from 8.00 AM to 8.00 PM, free at night)

My wife and I stayed at The Gateway for one week in February. Antonio had the apartment ready early and greeted us when we arrived. He showed us around the apartment, provided maps and guides for the area, and provided lots of great recommendations for places to eat and things to do. The apartment was perfect for us; everything was very clean and had all of the amenities we needed for our stay. The train station is a five minute walk, and the walk to the city center allowed us to experience the local atmosphere along the way. I can't recommend The Gateway enough, and we hope to return soon!

Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist ausgezeichnet. 2 Bäder und 2 große Schlafzimmer machen sie auch für 2 Paare sehr bequem. Die Ausrichtung zum Innenhof macht sie dazu, trotz Innenstadt und Bahnhofsnähe sehr ruhig.Der Gastgeber Antonio Bianco ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und alles war genauso, wie in der Ankündigung versprochen. Antonio was very welcoming and super accommodating about our late arrival. He recommended lots of places in and around Bologna for us to visit. Convenient Location with the needed amenities

Antonio’s apartment near Bologna Centrale had everything we needed for a great Italian trip. It was less than 10 minute walk to the main train station giving us easy access to Florence, Milan the beaches and smaller towns like Ferrara. It was less than a 20 minute walk to the historical center of Bologna. There were good restaurants just steps away and 2 grocery stores less than a 10 minute walk as well. Antonio communicated promptly, gave good recommendations on restaurants and day trips and even helped us line up a fabulous cooking class. The apartment was as advertised in the listing with the necessary appliances and cookware that allowed us to cook some of our meals at home. Thank you Antonio for being a great host.

Apartment was clean and comfy. The washer and dryer were a huge plus. We had three people stay here and had plenty of room. It is a 15-20 min walk to the center of Bologna but 5-10 mins from the main train and bus stations. Very convenient!

Light, bright and spotlessly clean

This is an amazing apartment and is only a 5min walk to the train station. It was spotlessly clean and the hosts met us and showed us around. Good sized rooms, a great kitchen, big TV, two good bathrooms and comfy beds. It's a 20-min walk into the centre of the city but it's easily accessible.

Apartment was located in a perfect spot for easy access to train station, since we used it a lot to get to some small towns around Bologna, as well as, travel to Florence and Venice.The area seemed pretty safe, so was never concerned.The apartment was really nice. We had plenty of room for our 2 boys plus ourselves. Having 2 bathrooms was great. I would recommend this place to anyone. Definitely would stay again.

Perfect Place for Traveling

We chose this location and place based on the 5 start reviews and they were right. The apartment is beautiful and clean. Antonio's parents greet you at the arrival and explain how the place works. Antonio is responsive to text messages. The location is 5 minutes from the train station and convenient to do days trips. You can find everything nearby including restaurants, grocery store, historical buildings. Would stay there again.
