'My partner and I booked a suite at the Novotel for 2 days as we were visiting Sheffield to watch the World Snooker Semi Finals. The hotel could hardly be better situated for the snooker as it is a 5 minute walk from the Crucible Theatre, right next door to the Winter Gardens. 'Breakfast the first day was better - excellent bacon. Staff were really friendly. Evening meal was reasonable but problem with the card machine suggested my card was declined when my online bank showed the payment went through when I added my pin. I was able to show this and the staff were apologetic. However an hour later I had a phone call asking me to return to pay and I had to repeat the story. I was not required to show evidence, which I could and the staff were helpful.'

'Room clean, modern, not as in the photos but it was ok. Very close the the centre great location. My only grump was the bin men at 5am both mornings on the cobble street below and the lack of sleep as bed was very comfortable but a double is too small but thats our preference.'
