Monterey Wine Country: Avontuurlijke vakanties

We were overcharged by $450 and can not reach anyone at the hotel to resolve the issue. We were charged by both Expedia and the hotel. Our room on the ground floor, #126, was next to the elevator, which sounded like a foghorn in our room and ran constantly. Staff told us it would stop around 10 p.m. It did not stop until midnight. Then it started up again at 5 a.m. Outside our door there was a LARGE built-in fan that ran constantly and made it impossible to use the patio because it was so loud. Other rooms had lights over the doors. Ours did not, which made it very difficult to open the door after dark. When this hotel was remodeled, why did they build a 4-foot wall across the back overlooking the beach? When sitting in a chair outside, all we could see was the horizon, not the beach or the water.

Let me say I enjoyed my stay. The property is well maintained, and the room we occupied is well appointed and clean, if a little stark. The staff is great! The property is nestled in the valley and it’s mostly quiet but for the whirl of the various machinery that runs the place and the cars that whizz by on the main highway next to the property. We don’t golf, so perhaps we didn’t take advantage of the main thing there? The room was next to a box that whirled intermittently all night long. You need to be a strong sleeper to overcome the nuisance. I am. Though The Covey Grill is a nice venue, the food is not something I would drive out for. Don’t forget there’s a resort fee on top of the room rate per night. It’s NOT exorbitant at $42/night. But we didn’t get a chance to really enjoy the extras much.

great environment big facilities, well taken care off
