'Our stay at the Shijo Takakura Hotel grandreverie was great! It was the most memorable room of our trip to Japan, a great design and lots of space. The stone shower and bathtub were especially luxury. The staff was incredibly attentive. It's the one place we'd immediately go again!'

'Every aspect of our stay was excellent. Location, staff, lobby, amenities, room size and comfort, cleanliness and quiet. The only thing that could be improved on would be the addition of a recycle bin in the room. We tried our best to keep items separated though! Also the walls could use a little touch up - previous guests seem to not be very careful when using the kettle (running the spout along the wall) and sliding or banging suitcases against the walls. 'Great hotel! Rooms were clean and beds were sooooo comfortable. Location is near many stations (shijo-Gion to the south and Sanjo to the north). Close to the river and other historic neighbourhoods. Honestly an ideal home base for your Kyoto adventure. Staff is attentive and friendly and the hotel and area are quiet. We didn’t opt for the Japanese style breakfast but we saw them in the morning and they looked good.'

'This was probably the nicest Hilton I've stayed in. The room was great, clean, modern, total black-out, well appointed. The restaurant options were great. We tried the rooftop, it was fine but the views weren't great. Definitely recommend it. '
