![The plantation received its name because it was the location of Captain John Smith's "New Fort," built in 1609, located directly across the James River from the Jamestown colony. The fort was quickly abandoned due to dry rot and a rat infestation.[4] The same land was later given by Chief Powhatan to John Rolfe as a dowry for the hand of Pocahontas when Rolfe and Pocahontas married. Archaeological surveys of the property have revealed that a number of structures have existed on the property and the present, restored main house was built by Jacob Faulcon in 1751.[6]

Un resort fantastique avec de très belles maisons individuelles. Très spacieuse bien équipée. De nombreuses activités, piscine, mini golf, ping pong tennis… Seul bémol le personnel n’est pas très sympathique.

Hyatt Place Hampton Convention Center
The room was clean, spotless, and comfortable. I needed a microwave and the staff got it to me quickly. There was noise above my room and that handled promptly. Enjoyed my stay.

Beachfront House on James River. Near Historic Jamestowne and Williamsburg
Cottage très propre et bien confortable avec tout ce dont nous avions besoin. Une vue fabuleuse sur le fleuve, une plage privée, un calme absolu, des balbuzards pêcheurs comme spectacle journalier.... Seuls points négatifs: salle de bain/ toilette vraiment petite, par contre fonctionnant très bien. ...
