'Very basic bed to sleep in prior to early morning flight. Tiny bathroom, small room, squeaky floor - this was not holiday accommodation but fine for what we needed.'

'Friendly family business, good value. Comfortable bed and hot shower which was exactly what I needed after 18 hours of international travel. I stayed 2 nights in late September to attend a wedding in nearby Ripponden. The room was quite chilly but I actually like sleeping in a cold room. A space heater was provided, though I didn’t use it as the bed was cosy enough. It was handy that they served food downstairs and I really appreciated the vegetarian/vegan selections including veggie sausages...

'Had a great stay. Staff were wonderful. Meals in the restaurant were the best I’ve had out for a long time. I’d travel the hour just for the food. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. It would have been flawless if there was an 2nd pillow and the door from the stairs entry didn’t bang so loundly when people walked through. Both an easy fix. Would definitely recommend'

'Modern comfortable rooms, great big shower, and nice beds. Good dinner and nice staff. Good quality for a reasonable price.'

'Everthing spot on great staff banging breakfast'

'Zeer vriendelijk personeel, vlotte bediening, comfortabele kamer, goede keuken'

'The Calfs Head is a charming country hotel. We ate in the conservatory which was lovely. The food was good but the desserts were excellent. The staff were delightful and the ambience was very comfortable.'

'Fantastic place. Easy to park. Great customer service, awesome food, good size room and extremely comfortable bed. Only stayed 1 night but will happily recommend and will stay again.'
