'While I loved the location and the amenities, I was surprised to learn it is a 2 bedroom suite with each room is rented separately. Fortunately the other room wasn't rented out but I find disingenuous to describe the space as private. The bedroom doors are feet apart, and it is likely you are sharing a 2 bedroom suite with strangers.'

'I rarely leave negative reviews, but this property was a huge disappointment, especially for the price we paid. The unit is extremely dated and in desperate need of renovation. The most concerning issue was the peeling paint in the bathroom, which appears to be old and could potentially be lead-based. If that’s the case, it’s a serious safety concern that should be addressed immediately. The beds were some of the most uncomfortable we’ve slept on—very stiff with flat pillows—and there weren’t...

'We were surprised as to the price for this lovely accommodations. It was exactly as described. Very clean. The only reason I did not rate it a 5 is because the carpets and walls had a few stains that perhaps were caused by previous guests. I however would use this accommodation again. Host was exceptionally warm and accommodating. Very clean. Being a basement suite, we were ready to forgive upper floor footsteps which was very minimal.'

'The apartment was excellent and is well described in the photos on VRBO. Communication with the host and his co host was prompt and very useful.The location was very good for us …a 15 minute drive at most for many of the activities we undertook. Noise from people renting the upper unit was minimal. Overall an excellent rental compared to others that we have stayed at on Vancouver Island.'

'Great location - easy drive from Butchart Gardens (we even went back for the night view). Only negative was that the apartment was down a steep flight of steps, which was a problem for one in our party. Parking was also limited for more than one car.'
