Herenhuizen in Gibson Island

'I was staying overnight to be close to a surgical center, so I could not eat after midnight. Thus, I can't rate the breakfast that was included. However, the room was clean and spacious with all the stuff you want for an overnight stay. On the down side, the linens were all a bit worn; the bath mat, for example, was thin and had a couple holes. Also, this is an old-style hotel, with outside access to each room from the parking lot; I noticed a damp smell when I entered the room, probably due to...

'The rooms are rather old and in need of a refurb: blinds on window (in two separate rooms) did not work, and in both rooms the safe was broken. I had to ask on three separate occasions to have house keeping clean the room and replace towels etc. House keeping eventually cleaned my room on the 4th day, despite the first request on day 2. This is not a low cost hotel, and I expected better. I would not stay here again'

'We got in very late and needed to sleep, shower, have breakfast and go. We didn’t use any amenities. It was fine for our need. Bed was comfortable and didn’t smell like a dog had been in the room. The carpet had some spots at the entry and things were compact in size but it met all of our needs. The refrigerator had a freezer section which was great to regress ice packs for insulin bag. The bathroom was tiny but worked. (Close the toilet lid so things don’t fall from the narrow counter behind)...
