Herenhuizen in Gibson Island

'I was staying overnight to be close to a surgical center, so I could not eat after midnight. Thus, I can't rate the breakfast that was included. However, the room was clean and spacious with all the stuff you want for an overnight stay. On the down side, the linens were all a bit worn; the bath mat, for example, was thin and had a couple holes. Also, this is an old-style hotel, with outside access to each room from the parking lot; I noticed a damp smell when I entered the room, probably due to...

'The rooms are rather old and in need of a refurb: blinds on window (in two separate rooms) did not work, and in both rooms the safe was broken. I had to ask on three separate occasions to have house keeping clean the room and replace towels etc. House keeping eventually cleaned my room on the 4th day, despite the first request on day 2. This is not a low cost hotel, and I expected better. I would not stay here again'

'The carpet in the room was dirty. There was a real bad odor coming from the sink drain In the bathroom. We reported it on our first night there and no one ever came. The air conditioner did not work but it was completely replaced by one of the one of the maintenance personnel at the hotel. He did a great job and it was really appreciated. Also, the safe in the room was not set and was not able to be used.'
