'Lovely hotel, clean, spacious, nice decor & beautiful views. The location was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the dining terrace overlooking the Welsh Hills. Staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The room was big as was the bathroom with a bath. It had a big, comfortable bed. The only negative was the TV. It was very small for the room and had a very basic freeview, with most channels having no signal. A bigger TV with Netflix, so we could watch a film or something would make...

'All the staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay . The room was of a high standard with some nice touches - very fluffy towels - comfortable bed - good range of tea and coffee. Pleasant area with nice walks - safe and quiet - ideal stop off if on long journeys North or South with relatively easy M6 access.'

'The room we had was clean and comfortable with plenty of space to move around. We had breakfast both mornings and dinner on our first night and the food and service was excellent throughout. We will definitely stay here again.'

'The Oaklands is a nice hotel with a great bar and beer garden. It is relatively close to the centre, you can walk. The room is nothing special but everything works. Easy to park.'
