'Everywhere was very clean. The food was very good with a varied menu in the bar and restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking,'

'We were expecting a well maintained, boutique hotel, sadly it was not. Although refurbished in Nov 2014, the state of our room (1) lacked maintenance. Although each was relatively minor, when 10 issues are present, then the result is a disappointment. I relayed these to the receptionist on departure, and she seemed reluctant to seriously acknowledge the problem. This summed up the general feeling of laissez-faire.'

'No 42 is a beautifully restored building in the heart of Margate.. The room was exquisite, one of the best I’ve stayed in. I didn’t eat in the restaurant but it too looked fabulous and was fully booked. The issue that lets the hotel down is the lack of staff behaviour'

'The shared shower was cramped, dark, and you easily bang your head. Not only that you get a bang on the door by management stating checkouts 10am even though I was there 2 nights. Everytime you left the room you're interrogated by management wanting to know your every move. If you want a peaceful stay this isn't it. Needless to say I didn't stay the 2nd night found somewhere else.'

'Easy to find, clear instructions regarding keys, etc.. Not a huge amount of things nearby, apart from the nice beach. Perhaps a bit expensive for what it is, but in the summer the easier access to the beach must be a plus.'
