Cottages in Northern Lower Peninsula

'We stayed in the Garden Cottage for a week and cannot recommend it for longer stays. While the property manager responded to our texts and generally sent maintenance within 24 hours, the property suffers from poor upkeep and temporary fixes. Our issues started at check-in when our entry code failed, and no one answered the phone, forcing us to communicate solely via text. Upon entry, the unit smelled strongly of marijuana, the bedroom closet door was broken, and a ceiling fan blade was hanging...

'The property was clean and outfitted with everything you might need. Only downside was TV didn’t work. That didn’t mar the stay. This place is adorable and very relaxing.'

'Adorable, great location, A'

'The host is very responsive to messages. The house is small, but it fit out group of 8 just fine. I love that they have a hook up for a camper too. We enjoyed the trails and fishing on the lake. Would highly recommend for a weekend trip to the north country!!'

'Great location. Great dock and beautiful lake. Beds pretty comfortable. Home in great need of cleaning inside and out. Someone else's clothes were still in the living room when we arrived. Whole outside of the house needs clean. When the toilet is flushed the kitchen sick makes noise. Living room couch/chair in need of replacement. Many other things in need of attention.'

'Nobody there to check in with. I’m actually kind of glad because after walking around the property, it was definitely ran down. I reached out through Expedia, trying to check in, and didn’t receive a message back until the next day. I drove down the street and got a better room for the same price. Maybe it was because it was off-season, but I would never stay here based on walking around the property and seeing all the repairs that it needed.'
