Worst Rental Experience Ever
Not as pictured. First things first upon arrival there was an overwhelming odor of urine throughout the house, particularly in the rooms where there was carpet. The top floor near the stairs carpet was wet as if they just attempted to clean the carpet before our arrival. I immediately complained about the odor to the host who advised that they would come out and disinfect the carpet around 7:30pm. First I’m on vacation so the fact that I have to interrupt my plans to have my rental disinfectant is already an issue. After so back in forth the we both agreed on 9 am the next morning. Additionally the overall townhouse just felt uncomfortable. The furniture was obviously stained and dirty, particularly the family room furniture. We never made went back upstairs because the odor was so strong. When we went out to dinner and returned we discovered the back door didn’t stay locked. After you locked the door if you pull on it, the door will open back up. I contacted the host once again at 10:30 pm advising of same. He argued that the door does lock when it clearly didn’t and refused to assist me that night. Ultimately my family and I had to leave get a hotel room at 12 at night and I ended up getting another home the next day at champion gates (amazing) the next day. Yes I was refunded but this was the worse experience of my life. The biggest question is what if I didn’t have an additional 1500 to pay for a second home. My family learned a hard lesson.
