B&B in Hampton Roads

'I had a nice stay at Barclay Cottage Inn overall. The property was clean, reasonably priced, and conveniently located near the beach. The service was also good, and I had a pleasant experience with the staff. My biggest disappointment was the breakfast. I realize the property describes it as a continental breakfast, so I may have had different expectations based on some of the breakfast photos I saw online. The breakfast offered during my stay was fairly limited: bagels with cream cheese or...

'Loved that there was a continental breakfast included as well as an evening wine and snacks provided. Perfect location for beach access. Only suggestion I would have is having beach chairs and a pool shade umbrella - even for a fee. We flew in and rented a car so had to go out and purchase beach chairs'

'First, the "oceanfront" label is misleading. You cannot see the ocean from this property — and as every beach traveler knows, we pay extra for oceanfront specifically to *see the ocean*. Neither Expedia nor the property's own listings make this clear. They need to be honest about this in their advertising. Second, privacy and security are real concerns. My suite's sliding door opens essentially straight onto the beach with no barrier — I never felt safe leaving it open to hear the waves,...

' Magnificent plantation style mansion with beautiful surroundings and staffed by very friendly people! Thank you Warner Hall!'

'Fijne B&B, goed ontbijt en veel persoonlijke aandacht.'

'We stayed for our honeymoon before embarking on our cruise to Bermuda out of Norfolk. The port was very close to the Inn. The Inn is beautiful and so romantic. The area around the Inn had several options for dining. The walkable area was so romantic with its old architecture and cobblestone streets. I would love to come and stay longer and experience their restaurants and the city of Norfolk. I would highly recommend the Inn to anyone wanting a place that is not a big box type hotel. If...

'Wonderful hosts. Delicious breakfast. Convenient to walk or drive to Colonial Williamsburg. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Williamsburg.'

'Upon arriving we were greeted so graciously by the two girls from Pennsylvania I have misplaced their names in my head everything was a bit available the chocolates the lovely cookies the coffee the wine bar the room was beautiful the beds were lovely we had a stellar time and will definitely be back thanks again Hornsby house and we sure did enjoy ourselves'

'Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and spotless. The staff was pleasant and accommodating, and the breakfast was delicious! This place is just a short walk to historic Williamsburg and all the shops.'

'This was the number one best getaway I’ve ever experienced. I had my own parking and got to use the fenced in back yard and carport. The apartment downstairs is super comfy and cozy. The linens smelled like heaven. The smallest touches made you feel exotic. Words can’t describe. Thank you so much for the lovely stay!'

'Good!'

'We loved our stay! The inn is exactly as pictured. The balcony was perfect as we watched the thunder clouds roll in and watched it rain, it was so relaxing. The inn is located close to everything the town could offer, with less than a 5 minute walk straight into the ocean. There is only about 6 parking spots for the whole Inn, we didn't have any issues with parking but I'm sure during peak season or if the Inn is sold out it could be an inconvenience. The bed was comfortable, the half bathroom...

'Excellent B&B close to campus.'
