Herbergen in Gibson Island

'We booked Kent Island Resort for our anniversary because it looked beautiful online. We even paid extra for a balcony room because we pictured ourselves ending the night sitting outside with a glass of wine, enjoying the water. The grounds? Beautiful. Seriously. Whoever takes care of the landscaping deserves a raise. The room? A completely different story. Kent Island Resort advertises itself as a luxury boutique resort. Luxury isn't just beautiful landscaping and a nice website. Luxury means...

'Unfortunately they charged $10 a day for parking for a suburban parking lot that was not full. I could understand in a city garage or a very populated area, but that was not the case at this hotel. Additionally, my bathroom was not well cleaned. The swimming pool is used for physical therapy by an outside company, so the pool was crowded and not relaxing.'

'We had a nice short stay at the Holiday Inn Express. Our room had a view of the water, our room was clean and we enjoyed the pool and small pier. We even tried to fish at the pier but no luck. The view of the water in the back was peaceful.'

'The rooms are rather old and in need of a refurb: blinds on window (in two separate rooms) did not work, and in both rooms the safe was broken. I had to ask on three separate occasions to have house keeping clean the room and replace towels etc. House keeping eventually cleaned my room on the 4th day, despite the first request on day 2. This is not a low cost hotel, and I expected better. I would not stay here again'

'Mold in the bathroom. Toilet ran all the time, enen after flipping the handle. 20 mon after each flush. The floor was damp and my white docks turned black. Hard to get to no sign.....'
