When we first arrived and entered the sushi restaurant, we were not sure, but the traditional japanese rooms were nice and the bathroom and toilets were very nice and clean. But the highlight is the incredible sushi dinner. The chef gives you an experience, not just a dinner. This was by far the best sushi we had in Japan and amoung the best we ever had. 'Our stay at Shiomachi Roya in Tomonoura was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. I was impressed by the renovations done to turn this old merchant house into an inn. I liked the design and decor. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Because this particular house (Roya) has only 4 rooms to stay in, the staff are located at another sister inn literally just around the corner, one minute away. '別棟の部屋でした。 この部屋はミニキッチン・電子レンジ・冷蔵庫・風呂場と一通り揃ってて良かったです。 翌朝早い出発だったので、使用しませんでしたが、2Fにテラスもあったようです。 ただ、電源コンセントが少なかったので、電源タップ（延長コード）があると、良かったかも。 また、ロフトへの階段は急で狭かったので、深夜のトイレは慎重に昇降しました。'
