Peaceful getaway for Independence Day weekend

Such a great location to get away from the hustle and enjoy a private beach getaway! Location was great. Cape Charles is such a sweet location with unique shops and restaurants. Had to contact property manager for check in information but got it sent to me within 5 minutes. Highly recommend

We have stayed at many houses and condos in Baycreek. Old Crows Nest was one of the best, it was well stocked with everything you would need, instructions were clear and well documented for everything in the house; and you cannot beat the location. The only thing to callout is that you won’t have access to the garage, which isn’t a huge deal but it wasn’t clear to us when we rented so we had to purchase extension cords to be able to charge our rented golf carts.

Lovely property

This property was perfect for our family. There is quite a bit of construction in the neighborhood, but that ended up being a bonus for my toddler, who loved all of the construction equipment. The house was great - well-equipped kitchen, walking distance to the beach, beautiful landscaping, access to the community pool, close to town and the grocery store, etc.

Family Visit

We rented this house for our children/grandchildren over Thanksgiving. It is a lovely home in a wonderful location...walk to beach and fitness center...a fenced in yard (perfect for children and pets) - not to mention gorgeous views! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home...it won't disappoint!

Lovely beach week

We very much enjoyed our stay at Old Crow's Nest. It is spacious with flexibility for sleeping and activities. The beach is nearby but not quite walkable for the very old and very young but easily accessed. Nice views of the Chesapeake Bay. Cape Charles is nearby and provides some alternative things to do as well as another larger beach. We would recommend this place to friends and family.

Absolutely perfect!!!

This was a short little trip to celebrate 2 big occasions; my parents' 54th wedding anniversary and my dad's 80th birthday. The house is in a great, quiet location overlooking one of the holes of the golf course and with a view of the bay off of the back deck, which makes for a great view of the sunset. Having access to the golf course through the owner was key, as my son, dad, and I played golf on 3 straight days, and my son enjoyed being able to drive golf carts into town for dinner. Cape Charles is a gem of a little town, if you haven't discovered it yet, and this house made our stay absolutely perfect.

More Than A Rental...A Home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed a week long, three generation get together at The Old Crow's Nest in Bay Creek. The home is well laid out with sufficient room when one needs to get away from the noise & tumult. The beds were very comfortable; the bathrooms were clean and the kitchen was well appointed with cookware as well as appliances. The proximity to Bay Creek's private beach was a big plus. The beach is about .3 mile from the house. It was an easy amble to head down and watch a sunset on foot. It was a quick drive with a car full of kids toys, canopy, chairs etc. for making a day of it. Cape Charles was a quick 10 minute drive to enjoy its large beach as well as shops & restaurants. While we missed the Saturday night concert in Central Park there, it was good to know an offering like that is available during the summer. Despite the ongoing construction, the neighborhood was reasonably quiet, peace filled and clean. The second floor deck provided a great view of the golf course & bay. A sunrise cup of coffee on the deck was wonderful. We booked through Blue Heron; Doug Rippon and his team were very helpful when we had a request. We will definitely return!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second stay at the Old Crow's Nest in the Bay Creek Resort. We were there the week of June 18. It's the perfect property for our family (5 adults and 3 kids) vacation. The property has a great location being across the street from the Bay and overlooks the Bay Creek Resort golf course. The property is well maintained and clean. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glasses and whatever else you might need. The beds were comfortable and there are TVs in all the bedrooms. One of the things ww really like is there are thermostats for every floor. The family room has a collection of games and books to enjoy. It's a short walk/drive to the Resort's private beach. This was out sixth yearly trip to Cape Charles so we're pretty familiar with the town. We tried three new to us restaurants - AJ's Bar and Grill, Salt and Sand and the Coach House Tavern. We would recommend all three. We also hit some of our favorites restaurnts like The Shanty, which updated it's interier, Dead Rise Pies and Hook at Harvey. We also ate in one night picking up Crab Legs from the Beach Market, which, as far as we know. is the only place in Cape Charles where you can get crab legs. Also a shout out to Poseidon Watersports who delivered and picked-up the paddleboards we rented from them.One small probelm we had with the property was with the master bedroom shower not draining properly. With one call to Blue Heron the issue was corrected within the hour so well done there.I would highly recommend this property for your stay in Cape Charles and we expet to be back here next summer.

A great family vacation

We recently stayed at the Old Crow’s Nest and we had the most amazing time. The house was very clean and exactly what we expected. The beach there is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. This is our new favorite vacation pace and we are already planning our trip back next year. If you are looking for a quiet vacation to be able to relax and spend time with your family, I highly recommend this place.

Old Crow's Nest

My family stayed at the Old Crow's Nest in the Bay Creek Resort during the first week of August 2022. This was our fifth time visiting Cape Charles, but our first time in the Bay Creek Resort. We were a party of 8 (5 adults and 3 children ages 9, 7 and 5). The house, with 4 bedrooms plus two pull out beds up on the third level, provided plenty of space for our group. The beds were comfortable and the rooms attractive. Each bedroom had its own TV. The house also had 3 full baths which made showering after the beach or getting ready in the mornings easy. My only minor complaint was the house could have used a few more bath towels. There is a washer and dryer on the second floor, which was convenient for everyone to use. The living areas contained enough comfortable furniture for reading or watching TV. The outdoor furniture was also attractive and comfortable. The kitchen had decent appliances and was well stocked with plates, glasses, wine glasses, silverware, etc. The house also has a thermostat for each floor which meant little fighting over what temperature the house should be. The view of the bay and golf course/pond behind the house were wonderful. A perfect place to watch the sunset. The house had adequate parking for our 3 cars either in the driveway or in front of the house. The beach access is a little less than 1/2 mile and is an easy walk or in our case, drive as we had a lot of stuff to take to the beach. There was plenty of parking at the beach access point. The beach itself, which is private to the resort, was as nice as the public beaches in Cape Charles. During our stay the beach was uncrowded even on the weekend. A nice touch was air-conditioned restrooms and a hose to wash your feet off before heading back to the house. To use the Lifestyle pools and fitness center cost an extra $60/day, which we decided to decline. Also, while the golf courses looked in great shape, none of us are golfers so we didn't make use of them either. Overall, we were quite pleased with our stay at the Old Crow's Nest.

There were 8 of us - 5 adults, 3 young children (9,7 and 4). We loved the house. It was well laid out and had plenty of room for us all. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and glasses, etc. The appliances were all in good shape. The beds were comfortable. The linens were good although we barely had enough bath towels considering there were 8 of us. Hand towels and wash clothes were plentiful. The furniture was comfortable and in good shape. I did a lot of reading on the front porch and those chairs were quite nice. The views of the Bay, golf course and pond behind the house from the second floor deck were wonderful and a nice place to have a drink while enjoying the sunset. Each bedroom had a TV and each floor had its own thermostat so there wasn't constant fighting over what the temperture should be. The gas fireplace was a nice touch although we didn't actually use it. There was plnty of parking in the driveway and in front of the house for our 3 cars. The beach access is less than a 1/2 mile away and an easy to walk although we had gear to haul so we drove. The beach was great and uncrowded and even had air conditioned bathrooms available. Another thing we liked was the Sunday to Sunday rental as it avoided the much heavier traffic that occurs on Saturdays. We were a little disappointed that the Resort had pretty stiff daily fees for use of the Lifestyle pool and fitness center so we passed on that. The golf courses looked in great shape but since we aren't golfers we didn't play them. Our daughter did dine at the Coach House Tavern which she enjoyed. We are definatley looking forward to returning next year.
