'Idea for a single person exploring the south-western Lake District.'

'Great Inn with huge breakfast; also excellent dinner options!'

'Well appointed room with everything you need and stunning view.'

'We stayed for one night during a long trip from the highlands and is the perfect place to stay. The onsite team are extremely friendly and professional. The food is excellent and our room was comfy/clean/ warm and well appointed. The bar is quite popular and is a good place to enjoy a drink and a real bonus is the fleece inn is extremely dog friendly. There is a grass area outside with easy access and places where can dine in the pub with canine companions. Everyone was so friendly particularly...

'We used the Hare & hounds as a stopover on our way home but will give serious consideration to returning to explore the Lakes from there'

'Zeer tevreden, vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Heerlijk eten'

'The bathroom floor was leaking brown water and the staff refused to apologise for it'

'The lady who gave me breakfast- the owner was really helpful and friendly and gave me a perfect breakfast. I have no complaints and the price was fair.'

'Lovely room. We booked the dog friendly room and we had dog bowls, and a doggy treat pack including toy, treats & poo bags. Nice little touch! Great food as always, lovely full English breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend.'

'Clean & comfortable, great food & staff. Highly recommended 👍'

'Great location if you’re coming and going by train. Ask for a room “not” facing the street - mine did and even with ear plugs the traffic noise was quite loud. (Doesn’t help old school single pane windows which I suppose is common there.) Shower was also weak and stain on duvet cover was, even though small, gross. That said, location, staff and breakfast (included) were great.'
