Puerto Rico: Kindvriendelijke vakanties

Can’t say enough about this hotel. First, the staff. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. For instance, I brought 3 books with me. I left two in the room while down at the pool and when I returned, I found that housekeeping had placed a bookmark in one of the books for me! Such a little thing, but so incredibly thoughtful. The next day I return to the room to find they wrapped my charging cord with a complementary cord tie. Room service - I ordered room service twice during my stay and the kind woman who brought my food gifted me a Vanderbilt tote bag. This was after, not before I had tipped; she brought it when she returned to collect my plates. The pool staff also went above and beyond. They were so attentive and friendly and happy to make up a chair and provide extra towels. I do recommend bring some ones so you can tip the folks making up a chair for you. This was my first trip to Puerto Rico and everyone I met was friendly. The cab driving taking me to the hotel from the airport to the hotel pointed out some restaurants and coffee spots along the way. His pride in the San Juan area was apparent and it was such a nice welcome to the island. Every restaurant and shop I visited was more of the same - kind and friendly folks, simply happy to welcome you and treat you well.

. We stayed at RS for 4 days and were disappointed by the experience, especially considering the resort fee. Several amenities we looked forward to were closed, including the pool bar, hot tub, and main lobby bar. We planned to spend most of our time at the resort but ultimately felt we needed to leave to find things to do. I injured my back during the trip and was experiencing painful spasms. My partner tried to bring a small table from the pool area so I could be more comfortable on the beach. Two beach security guards immediately approached us, and the older beach manager yelled, “YOU PUT THAT BACK RIGHT NOW.” When I asked if they could provide a small table for the beach instead, I was told no and ordered to return it. The following day, my partner saw 10+ beach tables stacked with the other beach equipment. The lack of compassion and customer service was appalling. Room service was also disappointing. Food arrived in a brown paper bag despite the additional delivery fee and tip, which was not the experience we expected. At checkout, we requested to speak with a manager, but none was available. I left my phone number and never received a follow-up call. While I did receive a small refund, it did not adequately make up for the experience. We should have stayed at the Fairmont next door. Their staff was lovely, and the lobby bar was open late. That experience would have made the resort fee worthwhile. Unfortunately, RS fell far short of our expectations.

This was our first vacation ever and it was fantastic we had a amazing time and everything was first class
