'Great location as amongst all of the action in Ximen but just a street back away from the bustle. Just over 5+ minute walk to Ximen MRT EXIT 6. Stayed in twin room which was clean and spacious. Was nice to have the communal room/kitchen option upstairs L15 with microwave and water/tea/coffee. Aircon in room was not overly strong even on lowest temp (I was in TPE with excessive heat time of year) and mini bar not super cold either and had no temperature setting (but these 2 things were bearable...

'First time to Taiwan and found this hotel with some ratings good and bad. I found the service friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy although a bit worn looking but I was happy with that. Comfortable bed and great location :) Definitely returning. '

'As the name suggest a modern Retro ambiance. Very stylish. Good location and friendly staff.'

'Very well designed hotel room with smart features for a traveller, like universal power plugs. The hotel staff is friendly and professional. The mattress is a bit on the short side though (180cm), so not ideal for taller people. The mattress is also very hard, so that's something to keep in mind. They also offer you to order breakfast from a famous breakfast place, which is deliver3d to the hotel between 07:30 and 08:30, so you don't have to wait in a queue for over an hour. Nice option, but...

'We were supposed to stay 3 nights, but left after 1. Stains, hairs, dust, insects, used tissues. That was all in the room when we got in. The staff was very dismissive and shrugged it off, saying we should wear slippers in the room because the floor is dirty! The airco cannot be controlled, so it is also very cold in the room. We were covered in bed bug bites the next day. The staff offered another room, but it was as dirty as the previous, and the staff said they cannot guarantee that that...

"Spacious rooms. Attentive and helpful staff. Located near multiple metro (and bus) stations, so it is easy to travel. Lots of nice restaurants in the neighbourhood. The hotel is located near a very busy intersection, but I heard very little noise from inside the room. Some of the other guests were quite rude, but cannot blame the hotel for that."

"The hotel entrance is a bit difficult to find because it’s situated on the 13th and 14th floor of a commercial building. Hotel staff is very helpful. There is even one male staff member that can speak Cantonese. Room is alright. Average size but clean. The location of the hotel is near the metro station, so convenient for those planning to use the metro a lot during their stay in Taipei. I can recommend this hotel for those planning to stay in Taipei but doesn’t want to stay in a hotel nearby Ximen."
